some news!

first - things are getting serious about the split 7” with empire! empire! (i was a lonely estate). we are very excited about that! it will be released on goddamn records (austria, europe) and count your lucky stars (us). 

also, we are going to shoot our first video next week with geri from seasick! yet still docked. it will be for our new song “port dover”, which will appear on our upcoming full length album. looking forward to that, too!

additionally, we are practicing painstakingly for being able to play live gigs again soon.

we played a show at the rhiz in vienna with the nice guys from look mexico yesterday. thank you for coming out, for your kind words and everything!

recording wise we finished about two thirds of the vocals and there will be a strings and brass recording session in early december. we hope we’ll be able to record the missing vocal parts until christmas.

yes! we got a box of (rika/everton split) cds from japan last week, big thanks to hiro! email us if you want one for 10€ and get a super cool and super rare button with the coffee and ghosts tourposter artwork FOR FREE. we also still got some (very) large t-shirts for big people. you can get one of these for 5€.

one more week until recording starts! we’re looking forward to being in a studio again after more than 3 years. we will play shows again after that, some dates will be announced soon.

radio show

tomorrow we will play some of our favorite songs on radio ypsilon in hollabrunn. we might also talk about band stuff. 8 - 10 pm. stream it here.

so now that my two weeks off work in summer are confirmed, it’s official: we will record our (first (real)) album in july. we have about 4-5 songs that are (almost) finished, so the next few months we will be super busy writing new stuff. one new song will feature this:

so, the song we’ve recorded for the split 7”… i will finally finish mixing it in the next one or two weeks. sorry for the wait. luckily i won’t mix the album, so it might be ready in early 2012 or something. we’ll see.

in other news: r. will play a solo show as ugly valentine with boduf songs at the rhiz in vienna tomorrow. come hang out with us. here’s the flyer:

we’re still working on new stuff. there are some ideas, some more or less finished songs. there will be less emo, less distortion, less everything. also, there’s the split 7” with empire! empire! …! stefan is mixing our song at the moment so it might be out in early 2011 and you should totally buy it. oh - btw we still didn’t get our japan cds so if you’re still waiting for your copy we’re really really sorry but you should probably forget it. or fly to japan. or order it on amazon and pay 30 euros. or buy the vinyl and download the songs!

we will (try to) finish recording our song for the empire! empire! split this weekend and are really looking forward to that release!

additionally we will continue writing new songs for a full length album. the opener’s already done and it’s full of “aaaaaaahs” and “uuuuuuhs”. nice one!
